AJ Lee was born as April Jeanette Mendez on March 19, 1987, in Union City, New Jersey, the United States to Janet Acevedo and Robert Mendez. Lee is the youngest of the three children in their family and has once said that their family struggled a lot when she was a child and spent some days living in cars as they could not afford the rent for their home. Lee attended the Memorial High School and later studied film and television production in Tisch School of the Arts.
AJ Lee married WWE superstar CM Punk on June 13, 2014. The couple fell in love with each other when they were put together to form a storyline in the WWE.
