Early Life & Biography
Leland Blane Chapman was born on December 14, 1976, in Groom Texas to Duane “Dog” Chapman and La Fonda Sue Darnall. Chapman moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado during his teen years and became mischievous skipping classes, running away from home, and joining gangs. This made his mother put him under foster care when he was 13. His mother gave him a choice of either being in a foster care or living with his father and Chapman chose the second option. Chapman is trained in boxing and mixed martial arts and has a brother Duane Lee who is also a prominent member of their show.
Leland Chapman married his first wife Maui Chapman in 1995 which ended in a separation in 2005. He went on to date several women after his divorce, and in 2016 he married his second wife, Jamie Pilar Chapman. He has 3 children, two sons and a daughter from different women among whom his son Cobie Chapman was born to his first wife, Maui Chapman.

Leland Chapman began to work for his father at their family’s Da Kine Bail Bonds. His family started to star in the show Dog the Bounty Hunter on A&E since August 31, 2004. The show chronicled the experiences of Leland Chapman’s dad Dog’s life as a bounty hunter who was assisted by his family members as the whole family was into the business.
Leland left the show in 2012 and eventually the show was canceled in June 2012. He went on to run his own bail bonds company Kama’aina Bail Bonds in Hawaii and also his father’s Da Kine Bail Bonds.
He was invited by his father to join his new reality TV show Dog and Beth: On the Hunt for CMT in April 2013 which he accepted. The show came to an end in August 2015 after which Chapman moved from Hawaii to Alabama. He is currently residing with his wife at Alabama working as a bail agent.
