Wayne Newton was born in Virginia on 3rd April 1942. His father was an auto mechanic while her mother was a homemaker. Newton learned to play piano, guitar, and Roanoke at the age of six. He started singing in the local clubs and theatres. His family moved from Virginia to Ohio and then to Phoenix. Wayne suffered from severe asthma, and he left North High School just before finish the junior year.
He and his brother Jerry were noticed by a Las Vegas booking agent and signed for two weeks. Eventually, the contract was extended to five years and the brothers used to do six shows a day. In 1963, Wayne released his first album after signing with Capitol Records.
