Christopher Cross was born on May 3, 1951, in San Antonio, Texas, the U.S. His father was a pediatrician in the U.S Army and was posted at the Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C. In the mid-1950s his father was made the physician of President Dwight Eisenhower’s grandchildren. He spent most of his childhood days in his hometown of Texas.
Cross married his longtime girlfriend, Roseanne Harrison in the year 1973. Together they are the parents of a son named Justin. After staying together for five years, the couple divorced in 1982. Later, he got married to Jan Bunch in 1988 with whom he has two children, son Rain, and daughter Madison. However, the couple divorced in the year 2007.

Christopher Cross started his career with a San Antonio-based cover band named Flash before signing a solo deal with the entertainment company Warner Bros in the year 1978. The following year he released his self-titled album “Christopher Cross”.
Four singles from the album entered the charts of Billboard Hot 100 which resulted in immediate success and popularity of the album. He was nominated for several Grammy Awards, winning five. Cross is the only artist in the history of Grammy to win all four General Field awards in a single year.
