Burt Bacharach was born as Burt Freeman Bacharach on 12th May 1928 in Kansas City in Missouri in the US. His father was Mark Bertram “Bert” Bacharach who wrote for the newspaper columns. Burt’s mother was Irma M. (née Freeman) who was a painter and songwriter. She encouraged Burt to take piano lessons during his childhood. Over the years, Burt disliked playing classical piano.
