Early life & Biography:
Known by the name Ice Cube, O’Shea Jackson is the son of father, Doris, a hospital clerk and mother, Hosea Jackson a machinist at UCLA. He was born in Baldwin Hills, South Central Los Angeles on 15 June 1969.
Ice Cube was keen towards music from an early age and wrote raps in typewriting classes when he was in the Los Angeles Preparatory High School. He was challenged in the ninth grade by a fellow to write a song, and that’s when he wrote his first rap song.
He was 16 when he first sold his song to Eazy-E. He studied architecture from the Phoenix Institute of Technology in the year 1987, keeping it as a backup if by chance his rap career wouldn’t work out.
