Born as Huma Mahmood Abedin, the lady was welcomed into this world in 1976 on July 28. Her place of birth was Kalamazoo, Michigan, to parents Syed Zainul Abedin and Saleha Mahmood Abedin. She has two siblings comprising a brother and a sister. Abedin is of Indian descent. She moved with her family to Jeddah when she was two. Abedin lived and was raised there until she returned to the United States for college. Travelling was part of her childhood and teenage years.

In the year 1996, Huma began working as an intern in the White House while still a student at the George Washington University. She was assigned to the then-First Lady Hillary Clinton. Abedin served as the back-up to Clinton’s personal aide for several years until she officially became Clinton’s aide and personal advisor during Clinton’s successful U.S. Senate campaign in New York in 2000. She later worked as Clinton’s travelling Chief of Staff and “body woman” during Clinton’s unsuccessful campaign for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination.
