Early Life and Biography
Mona Scott was born to Haitian parents on February 15th, 1967 in Queens, New York, USA. Her father died when she was nine years old and her mother Jeanine Ridore was left with the responsibility of raising Mona together with her five brothers and one sister. Her mother took a job as cleaning staff at a private school to make ends meet.
Mona studied up to the high school level and never went to college. She then got a part-time job at the Radio City Music Hall, and she largely assisted her mother in raising and educating her siblings as well as paying the bills.
While still working at the City Hall, she undertook dance lessons, and that is where she met the ‘TrackMasters’. This was a group of young women from Brooklyn who was involved in choreography. Mona was approached by the Hip Hop group to manage them, and she accepted. From there, as they say, the rest is history.
