George Dennis Patrick Carlin was born in May 1937 in Manhattan. His mother, Mary Carlin used to work as a secretary, and his father, Patrick John Carlin was an advertising manager in ‘The Sun’. He is of Irish descent. When he was just two months old, his parents got separated. His father suffered from acute alcoholism which led the couple to part ways. He also had a brother named Patrick, Jr.
