Donald Rickles was born on 8th May 1926 in New York. He graduated from Newtown High School and joined in the US Navy. He served during World War II and was discharged in 1946. Then he studied at American Academy of Dramatic Arts. When he was frustrated by the lack of work as an actor, he took up comedy for his profession. Don started performing in the clubs in New York, LA, and Miami.
In 1965, Don married Barbara Sklar. Don has admitted that he was a failure romantically during his 20s and 30s and therefore, he arranged for a date in his late 30s. He met Sklar through such an agent, and they had two children. He performed during the inaugurations of Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. He died of kidney failure, and he was 90 years old then.
