Carlos Mencia, stage name of Ned Arnel Mencia, was born on 22nd October 1967 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Ned was 17th child of 18 children of Magdelena Mencía (Mexican) and Roberto Holness (Honduran). When Ned was born, his mother was in a domestic dispute with her husband. As per his birth-certificate, Ned was named ‘Ned Arnel Mencía.’ Yet, he used the name ‘Ned Holness’ until he was 18 years.
His aunt, Consuelo, and uncle, Pablo Mencia brought Ned up as a Catholic in East Los Angeles, California. Ned excelled in Garfield High School in Los Angeles County. He continued studying Electrical Engineering at California State University, Los Angeles. However, he left early to become a comedian.
