Llyod was born on 15th September 1954 in the home of US Post Clerk Seymour Blankfein and mother who worked as a receptionist. He was born in The Bronx County of New York City in a Jewish family. Blankfein spent the majority of his childhood in the Linden Houses that was a housing project at that time in Brooklyn.
Llyod worked at the Yankee Stadium as a teenager to earn some extra money.
