Chad Reed was born Chad Mark Reed on 15th March 1982. Chad was born and raised up in Kurri Kurri, New South Wales, Australia. Chad is the son of Mark and Robyn and has a younger brother by the name Troy.
Chad’s passion started when he was still a small boy and in order to own a motorcycle, he was forced to trade-in his darling horse in place of a bike which was Yamaha Pee Wee 50. Shortly after Chad got his first bike, his dad bought a small property that was a few miles from their home. This gave Chad a big space to train his bike-riding. At the same time, his family was so supportive and was always ready to travel with Chad around Australia to ensure Chad participated in all the competitions across the country.
Just as he is committed to his career, he is as well committed to his high school girlfriend. Chad started dating his current wife Ellie Brady when he was in high school. Although his status has greatly changed, it was not an enough reason for him to walk out of this relationship. Instead, he married Ellie and together they have been blessed with two wonderful children; a son and a daughter. Chad lives in Tampa, Florida USA with his family.

Reed formerly began his career as a professional racer in Australia in 1998. His expertise and continued practice helped him bypass the traditional 125cc stepping stone racing and competed in the then-premier 250cc class. He immediately became competitive in both supercross and motorcross and he won the then Australian 250cc Supercross Championship in both 1999 and 2000. This became the pace-setter for him.
Since then, Chad has participated in a number of competitions some of which include; Australian Supercross Championship in 2009, Super X series in 2010, Monster Energy Kawaski Racing Team, AMA Motocross Championship in 2012, and AMA Monster Energy Supercross Championship in 2016 among others.
