Muhammad Ali was born in 1942 on 17th January as Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. He was born to Cassius Marcellus Clay Senior together with Odessa O’Grady Clay. His place of birth was Louisville in Kentucky. The careers of Ali’s mother and father was a domestic helper and a painter, respectively. He is also the grandchild of John Clay. He had five siblings comprising a sister and four brothers. One of the brothers is Rahman Ali.

After four marriages, Muhammad Ali had two sons and seven daughters. The first one was to Sonji Roi. She was a waitress, and they tied the knot about a month after their first date. The wedding took place in 1964 on 14th August. It ended in 1966 on 10th January. They never got a child.
The second one was with Belinda Boyd. The wedding date was 17th August in 1967. She changed her name to Khalilah Ali after converting to Islamic.
