Candace Parker was born as Candace Nicole Parker on 19th April 1986 in St. Louis in Missouri in the US. Her parents are Sara and Larry Parker who played basketball at the University of Iowa (the 1970s). Candace has two older brothers – Anthony Parker (former NBA basketball player) and Marcus Parker (doctor).
The family relocated to Naperville, Illinois when Candace was two years. Her family enjoyed basketball and supported Chicago Bulls. Initially, Candace played soccer instead of basketball fearing she may not keep the family’s expected standards. While in 8th grade, Candace was convinced to play basketball and coached by her father.

Candace played her first match against Phoenix Mercury and broke the rookie record scoring 34 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists.
