Born as Hugh Charles Krampe in April 1925, Hugh O’Brian was the son of Edith Lillian and Hugh John Crampe. His father was employed in the U.S. Marine Corps. He went to Kemper Military School and has also been to the University of Cincinnati, but dropped out soon.
He became the youngest drill instructor at just 17. He died on September 5, 2016, in Beverly Hills California. He was 91 at the time of his death. He was the founder of the non-profit organization called Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership. He dedicated his life to humanitarian causes.
