David William Duchovny was born in 1960 on 7th August in New York to parents Margaret and Amram Duchovny. His mother was a school administrator and teacher, and his father was a publicist who worked for the American Jewish Committee. Margaret is a Scottish Presbyterian emigrant from Aberdeen, Scotland while Amram is Jewish.
Duchovny attended Grace Church School in Manhattan and The Collegiate School For Boys, also in Manhattan.
