Ramon Gerard Antonio Estevez, which is Sheen’s real name, was born on August 3, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio. He is the son to Mary Ann Phelan and Francisco Estevez who were both immigrants. During birth, Sheen’s left arm was left crushed by forceps, minimizing his lateral movement on the arm. To date, his left arm is three inches shorter than his right arm.
Martin grew up in the South Park neighborhood on Brown Street after the family settled in Dayton. Unfortunately, he contracted polio as a child, rendering him bedridden for one year.
