George Jacob Jung was born in August 1942, in Boston, Massachusetts. He is also nicknamed as “El Americano” and “Boston George”. His parents were Ermine Jung and Frederick Jung. He grew up in Weymouth, Massachusetts.
George went to Weymouth High School and graduated in 1961. He was a very good football player and was often described as a “natural leader”. Later, he went to the University of Southern Mississippi to study advertising but dropped out soon.

His cellmate at FCI Danbury was Carlos Lehder Rivas, who later introduced him to international drug-trafficking dealer Medellin Cartel.
